Snehana
Snehana means Oiling
Ayurved says,
Snehana is of two types.
Bahya (External)
And Abhyantara (Internal)
For internal, oil or fats
are administered through mouth.
It is done in two ways.
Either by using fats alone,
or with some other food articles.
Few people can have
Oil or Ghee directly,
but few can not.
The second option
is mainly for those
who show aversion
towards Oil or Ghee,
feel nousious and
throw up just by
the name of Ghee.
Otherwise using
Ghee alone is the best way.
Ghee is also known
as clarified butter.
And it is most preferred and
the most used form of fat
for internal administration.
It is administered for two reasons,
Either as a medicine of a disease
or as a pre operative preparation
for a Panchakarma procedure.
