#Ayurved_For_You
Mastu
No, that's not a spelling mistake. It is Mastu, not Masti. Because even my dictionary has got #Ayurvedified, so much that, even if I type Masti, it auto corrects the word to Mastu.
Have you ever seen the surface of curds? There is a thin layer of liquid on the surface of curds. My father used to have that part. He would say it taste better than curds. As a kid I never liked curds and any other milk derivatives. So never liked it as well. He would say it improves digestion (Ancestral teaching).
I believed that because the one telling that is my father. Still at the corner of my mind, I had a boubt, if it has medicinal properties, why is it thrown away?
While learning Ayurved, came to know that this supernatent part of curds is Mastu.
Ayurved says, when curds are properly formed, (Underline PROPERLY) there accumulates watery liquid on the surface of the curds called Mastu. The properties told are, it clears the minute channels inside the body by removing debries, helps in proper evacuation of waste and useful in constipation by regulating bowel movements properly.
Nowadays this liquid is either thrown away or is just mixed with curds while blending it. Not used separately.
But our ancestors used to have mastu separately as they knew it's benefits.
There are benefits of many other things which was known to our ancestors but not us. To know all such things, keep reading #Ayurved_For_You.
