Baaa Baaa Black Sheep

Sheep and Goat. Both appear like belonging to same family. One living in Kashmir and other living in Kanyakumari. One with thick heavy Arctic gear sweater and other with thin and soft bare skin as if wearing nothing but a Lungi.

Being distant relatives and having almost similar appearance they have similar properties of their milk is what most of us would think.
That way even Cow and Buffalo appear similar, but the qualities of milk differ a lot. Same is in this case. If qualities of Cow and Buffalo milk differs by Meters, then of Goat and Sheep differs by Kilometers.

Difference in them them can be seen in form of their behavior and physique.
Sheeps are dumb like Buffalos. They follow the same rule. Follow the one in front. They don't care if the guy in front is going in right direction or wrong direction. They just follow with their head down looking at the ground. Whereas a Goat always faces front and keeps looking around. Goats are alert all the time but sheep's don't give dam about what's happening around. Sheeps are like blind followers. If one in front jumps off the cliff, all will jump after it. That's why a wise Sheppard always keeps a Goat in front of a group of Sheeps while taking them for a walk.

Another thing is Sheep is heavily covered with wool for protection from the cold environment. It's wool keeps the body warm. Because of that body temperature is high.

Ayurved says, milk of a Sheep is Hot in nature. That's why can be used in disorders of Vaata. But drinking it has a lot of bad effects. It increases Pitta, so can cause diseases caused by increased Pitta. It also increases Kapha. Taking it in more quantity or regularly causes hiccups and also difficulty in breathing. That's why it is used in very few disorders considering the proper and favourable condition.

So may them be apparent distant relatives, they are different in all aspects. Ayurved thinks about all minute points of a source.
